Alternate Access® Sponsors Strike for Survival 2008

Raleigh, N.C. (September 9, 2008) – Alternate Access®, a leading provider of converged communications solutions, will be a bronze level sponsor at the Strike for Survival 2008 Glenwood area bowling event on Friday, September 12 at Pleasant Valley Bowling Lanes. The annual fundraiser, featuring four bowling events, raises money to support the American Cancer Society in its efforts to find a cure for cancer.

Alternate Access has also organized two bowling teams to participate in the Glenwood area bowling event and coordinated two teenage volunteers to provide face painting to children and the young at heart.

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 40,420 new cases of cancer were expected to be diagnosed in North Carolina in 2008 – more than 1.4 million were estimated nationwide.

“Cancer will affect most of us in some way during out lifetimes,” stated Adrienne K. Lumpkin, Alternate Access president and director of marketing. “Several members of the Alternate Access family have supported loved ones in their battles against various forms of cancer. We are proud to be a part of this event and to support, as a team, the efforts of the American Cancer Society.”

Three other Strike for Survival 2008 bowling events will take place as follows:  Saturday, September 13, at Capitol Lanes on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh; Friday, September 19 at Durham AMF Lanes on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard; and Saturday, September 20, at Cary AMF Lanes on Nottingham Drive.
